About

The whole person, not the presenting complaint

Nesema exists because health rarely arrives in the neat categories our systems expect it to.

The name

Nesema comes from the Hebrew Neshama (נְשָׁמָה) — soul, breath, and divine spark. The same root gives the word for breathing.

We chose it because it holds two ideas at once: something ordinary and involuntary that keeps you alive, and something whole that makes you who you are. Good health care has to attend to both.

Why we built it

Someone with poor sleep, low energy and unpredictable digestion is usually not dealing with three separate problems. But they will often end up with three separate practitioners, none of whom can see what the others have found, each starting from the same first question.

Meanwhile the practitioners — mostly excellent, mostly independent — are running their practices across a calendar app, a notes document and a spreadsheet, losing hours a week to work that has nothing to do with the reason they trained.

Nesema is one place for both sides of that: a practice a practitioner can actually run, and a plan a patient can actually follow.

How we work

Everyone is verified
Every practitioner's registration is checked against their professional body before they can take a booking. No exceptions, and no self-certifying.
Consent is explicit, every time
Health records do not move between practitioners quietly. Sharing anything — including lab results — requires your recorded consent, and you can see what has been shared.
Practitioners stay independent
Practitioners set their own fees, their own hours and their own approach. Nesema is the infrastructure around their practice, not a clinic that employs them.
We are not a medical service
Nesema connects you with independent practitioners and gives them tools. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency care. If you need urgent help, contact NHS 111 or emergency services on 999.
